More than a voice on the phone

I had been overseas and my international roaming caused me to come home to a $1000 mobile phone bill. Upset and desperate to sort something out I phoned the carrier company and found myself talking to an operator in Mumbai. For an hour he helped me with everything he could. He gave me a goodwill credit of $250 to the bill. He gave me 3 months free internet access. He upgraded my phone and even found me a better plan. I was so grateful for the financial relief and I told him he was my angel for the day. He said that I made his day special at work (because of my jokes and side chatting). The best part though was that we connected on such an amazing level that we became friends - even though he could get in trouble for that. We discovered that we each wanted to visit the other person's country. We knew that we were meant to connect simply as international friends. Last week I received an invitation to his wedding. Of course, I have to go, right? I can't wait to experience a beautiful and colourful Indian wedding. As for the international roaming - it will most definitely be turned off!
